Establishing Transparency: Why It's Important & How to Do It

Employees and customers want to support a company that does not infringe on the rights of other human beings and has outstanding values.

Our landscape is changing, and many Millennials all but demand that a company have good values, and that means being as transparent about your business as possible. But what does that mean exactly? It means being honest, honorable, and open about what your business stands for. This can make all the difference when looking for employees and new customers. Here are a few ways you can establish transparency and how it can help your business.
  1. Openness is Key – Your customers, employees, and investors must be on the same page as you are in order for the bond of trust to form. You should share everything you can with them in order to strengthen this bond.
  2. Establish Core Values – We were told this as children and a lot of you now tell our own children: treat others how you would like to be treated. You likely want your employees to act with dignity and honor. So if you want to get that mentality from your employees, you need to treat them with those virtues as well.
  3. Be Open to Others – Companies like Apple, Google, Facebook, Nike, and many more have recently made statements about how they will accept everyone regardless of race, religion, or gender. This is crucial in making their employees and customers feel like they are welcome and wanted–a feeling for which we all long. (It also provides them the opportunity to reach out to a multitude of customers that otherwise may not have had an interest.)
In order for your business to have the support of your employees, customers, and investors, transparency is key. Along with transparency, however, you also need the right commercial insurance policy to protect you from the dangers of owning a business. Contact C.V. Mason Insurance Agency in Bristol today.
